Middle School

Traditional offerings in English, mathematics, science and social studies anchor the overall curriculum. Students in 5th & 6th grade are required to read two novels per month above and beyond regular classroom curriculum to strengthen reading comprehension and vocabulary. Beginning in 5th grade, students also begin summer reading. Art, music and physical education are required of all students. Science class begin to have a more focused emphasis on STEM, problem solving and lab activities.

Students may begin to participate in junior varsity sports including football, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, softball and golf as well as scholastic activities.

Saxon math continues through middle school years reinforcing previously covered lessons which leads to better retention of material. A solid academic foundation built upon a mastery at basic skills prepares students for high school.
