EBA Family,
We’ve had a great two first weeks back on campus. Please see the following information to help keep you in the loop on the things happening on campus.
Absences - If your student(s) is absent (especially in grades 7-12). They are required to bring a note within two days of returning to school. If the student(s) do not bring a note they will be marked as an unexcused absence. This will have ramifications on exempting exams for those eligible. Please see the handbook for more information on our absence and tardy policy.
Chapel - Pastor Keith Cox brought the Word on Thursday. He spoke on how God is greater than our highs and our lows. Thank you, Pastor Keith, for sharing with our students!
Concession Stand Volunteers - Be sure to check in with your student’s teachers to see if there are any available opportunities to volunteer to work our concession stands throughout the year. This is a great way to meet your student’s classmates and families, to network, to fellowship, and to provide a service that our school needs.
Elementary Cross Country - A packet for those interested in signing up for elementary cross country was sent home this week with all relevant information involving elementary cross country. They are due back by August 28th. Practice will begin September 1st. If you are anyone you know is interested in helping with this program, please reach out to me via email.
Lunch Accounts - Please be sure that we are keeping track of our lunchroom account balances and that everyone is striving to maintain a positive balance in your account.
One Act Play - Anyone interested in participating in One Act Play (as a cast member or a crew member) please see Mrs. Waller to sign up.
Shot Records - Students in Kindergarten (k-3, k-4, and k-5), 7th grade, and 11th grade. If you received a letter regarding shot records, please be sure to bring an updated copy of your student’s shot records to the school for us to have on file.
Varsity Softball - Our softball team will be hosting a Diamond Day at EBA tomorrow Saturday, 8/22 with GSIC and Robert Toombs participating. Our girls will play GSIC at 11:30 a.m.. and Robert Toombs at 1:00 p.m. (approximately). We invite all families to come out and support our school and our girls!
EBA Football Program - If you purchased an ad from the EBA Cheerleaders and haven’t received a first proof from Kristin Ellison, please contact her at 706-877-2139 or email kellison@burkeacademy.

Friday thought:
Well, our school year is off to a hot start (no pun intended). I hope everyone finds their groove and gets comfortable getting back into the school routine. Please let us know if you have any issues at all. It is better to hear facts from those responsible for the school and students, rather than go off of second hand information. If there’s anything we can do to help (within reason) please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
